MEET BISHOP & FIRST LADY AMOS
BISHOP MATTHEW AMOS
Bishop Matthew H. Amos, a native of Chicago Heights, IL, is the 11th of 13 children of his late parents Deacon Willie B. and Archie K. Amos. He received his early education in the Chicago Heights Public School District. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Golden Grain Bible College and Seminary in Ventura, California.
His ministry began May 11, 1976 at the New Hope Baptist Church of Chicago Heights under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Willie H. Sherrod, Sr., his father in the ministry. He was licensed and later ordained May 26, 1978.
Bishop Amos pastored Jehoshaphat Baptist Church in Simi Valley, California from 1991 to 1997. On August 3, 1997 he was installed as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church.
Bishop Amos is very well known for his musical gift from God. He has worked
with choirs locally and at the Progressive Baptist State Convention of California, Nevada and the Congress of Christian Education on Music in Worship.
Pastor Amos was consecrated as Bishop Matthew H. Amos on Sunday, October 16, 2011. God has anointed Bishop Amos to preach and teach a powerful, persuasive, life changing word of God. As he humbly serves as our under shepherd, he encourages us to keep our spirit, hearts, mind yielded to the GREAT SHEPHERD, JESUS CHRIST.
FIRST LADY RENEA AMOS
First Lady Renea Amos was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois, born 3rd of 4 children to the late Deacon Emmitt Jones Sr and Lillie Jones. She received her early education in the Chicago Heights District 170 school system. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana
First Lady serves as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Director, and loves to sing backup in the choir. Anyone who knows First Lady knows that she believes in working instead of standing around and looking. She truly loves to serve and be a servant. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and believes it is healthy for Christians to enjoy themselves in the Lord.
Her favorite scripture: Philippians 4:11-13 …for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Most important thing to know about First Lady Renea Amos is that she loves the
Lord and believes Matthew 6:33. She believes that you should “seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things will be added unto you”.
